A serious traffic accident occurred on the evening of March 10 at around 20:20 in İskeçe, northeastern Greece, when a car collided with a motorcycle at the busy Zinzirlihan Intersection.

The crash took place at the junction of St. Vlachopoulou Street and Gkifhorn Street, a central area known for heavy traffic and nearby commercial activity.

Strong Impact Leaves Rider Injured
According to initial reports, the collision involved a passenger car and a moving motorcycle ridden by a male driver. The force of the crash reportedly tore off the car’s front bumper, while the motorcyclist was thrown onto the road.

Witnesses at the scene said the rider was wearing a helmet but was injured due to the severity of the fall.

Traffic Lights Reportedly Out of Service
Drivers and residents in the area stated that the traffic lights at the intersection were not functioning at the time of the accident. According to witnesses, the malfunction may have effectively turned the junction into a “blind spot,” potentially contributing to the collision.

Police Investigation Underway
Emergency services quickly dispatched an ambulance to the scene. The injured motorcyclist received first aid before being transported to İskeçe General Hospital for further treatment.

Police officers also arrived at the scene to regulate traffic and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
