Meriç: Over 650 applications for subsidized relocation – Minister Michailidou: “Very strong response”
More than 650 applications have been submitted for the subsidized relocation program in Meriç within just six weeks since it was first announced by the Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family.
Speaking on ERTNews’ program “Newsroom”, Minister Domna Michailidou expressed satisfaction with the strong response from citizens.
She noted that the program was announced on the last day of July, and despite coinciding with the summer holiday period, over 650 households have already applied, with more than 70 applications receiving preliminary approval.
“We are providing €10,000 in relocation support so that families can move to our beautiful Meriç, to the prefectures that make us truly proud to be Greeks. We have already seen a very strong response,” the minister stated.
Michailidou added that the government wants to assess the program’s performance and public interest before considering its expansion to other regions.
