Mediterranean Researchers’ Night to take place in İskeçe on September 26
Following last year’s success, the Mediterranean Researchers’ Night (MEDNIGHT) will once again be held in İskeçe. The event will kick off on Friday, September 26, at 18:00 at the Athina Research Center in Koyunköy and will continue throughout the evening.
This Europe-wide science festival focuses particularly on Mediterranean countries, bringing the public together with researchers, new technologies, and inspiring scientific projects.
Interactive Workshops and Exhibits for All Ages
The event will feature workshops, experiments, presentations, and interactive activities suitable for participants of all ages. This year’s highlights include artificial intelligence and robotics, cultural heritage technologies, environmental protection, and innovative educational practices.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore AI-assisted diagnosis of vascular blockages, applications developed to understand climate change, virtual and augmented reality experiences, cultural projects that digitally reconstruct archaeology, and sustainability tests for everyday life.
Highlighting Women in Science
MEDNIGHT emphasizes the role of women in science, aiming to remind the public that science is a universal value that connects communities, not just a laboratory pursuit.
Events Across İskeçe
As in previous years, the activities will not be confined to the university campus. Pre-events and open laboratory sessions will also take place in the city center, offering broader public engagement.
The event is supported by the European Commission’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program. Partners include the Athina Research Center, Türkiye’s Kadir Has University, and research institutions from France, Spain, Tunisia, and Cyprus.
The detailed program will be announced in the coming days. More information is available at: www.mednight.athenarc.gr/2025
