Küplü Sacrifice event organised in Kozlardere
In Kozlardere, located in the Yaka region of Yassıköy Municipality, the ancient religious tradition of Küplü Kurbanı brought together thousands of cognates. Küplü Kurbanı, one of the oldest traditions of the Yaka villages, is kept alive in the best way by the people of Kozlardere today, despite the passage of centuries.
The religious event was successfully organised this year as well.The people of Kozlardere village hosted thousands of compatriots in the courtyard of the mosque and in the village square with the event organised on Sunday, 7 July 2024.
During the event, which started at 11.30 am at Kozlardere Mosque, the religious officials of the Muftiate of Komotini recited Ashr-i Sharif, hymns, ode and Mevlid-i Sharif. Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif performed the prayer of the Mevlid and after the call to prayer, the noon prayer was performed collectively.
After the prayer, the congregation leaving the mosque and all the cognates participating in the event were served pilaf with meat and ayran by the people of the village.
The Küplü Qurbani event ended with thousands of kinsmen eating their meals in the courtyard of the mosque and under the big plane trees around it.
The Board of Trustees of Kozlardere, the village imam Nihat Ahmet, the elected people of the village and especially the young people made great efforts to make the event successful. With their services they hosted thousands of guests in the most beautiful way.
