Komotini Municipality warns for 'fire season'

The fire season started across the country as of Monday 1 May.
Komotini Municipality made a statement regarding the fire season which started on Monday 1 May and will end on Tuesday 31 October.
In the statement, it was emphasised that land, fields and gardens should be cleaned by their owners. Citizens were warned to clean the grass, unused materials and rubbish in these places on the grounds that they pose a risk for fire.
It was stated that citizens who do not do the necessary cleaning in these places will face sanctions within the framework of the law, and it was reminded that the cleaning work should continue until the end of the fire period.
