Kinsmen meet at the Mahya event organised in Yalımlı village

The Mahya event, which has become a tradition by the people of Yalımlı village, was kept alive this year.
The Mahya event, which was held on Sunday, 30 June 2024 under the leadership of young people in Yalımlı village, brought together compatriots from many villages from the Rhodope region.
The religious event, which took place in Yalımlı Mosque, started at 12.00 pm with the recitation of Ashr-i Sharif.
The programme continued with hymns and Mawlid-i Sharif recited by İsmet Hüseyin, the Religious Officer of Yalımlı Mosque and the religious officers of Komotini Mufti's Office.
The prayer of the Mevlid was performed by İbrahim Şerif, Mufti of Komotini. Afterwards, he made a speech about the meaning and importance of the day to the male and female compatriots in the mosque and outside until the time of prayer.
With the call to prayer, the community prayed the noon prayer collectively.
At the end of the event, the people of Yalımlı served pilaf with meat and ayran to the guests.
Yalımlı youth served during the event and ensured that the guests were hosted in the most beautiful way.
The Mahya event, which was prepared for more than three thousand participants, was attended by elected officials such as İbrahim Şerif, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini, Çiğdem Asafoğlu, President of the FEP Party, Özgür Ferhat, MP for Rodopi, Rıdvan Molla İsa, Advisor to the President of the Province of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and Ahmet Osman, Member of the State Assembly.
