İTB Youth Branch gathers for traditional picnic by the river
The Youth Branch of the Xanthi Turkish Union (İTB) and students of the Balkan Youth School, supported by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), came together on Sunday, July 6, 2025, for their traditional annual picnic on the banks of the Mesta (Karasu) River.
The event offered participants a joyful day in nature, with a strong emphasis on community, unity, and solidarity. Attendees engaged in friendly conversations, group activities, and moments of meaningful interaction.
The picnic was held near the village of Okçular (Oxilar), by the scenic Karasu River. Prominent guests included İTB President Kerem Abdurahimoğlu and Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi and President of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace.
In a ceremony at the end of the day, President Abdurahimoğlu and Mufti Trampa presented Certificates of Participation to the Balkan Youth School students, marking the conclusion of a memorable and enriching day for all involved.
