Students from the Yaka Region Children’s Mufti Office program affiliated with the İskeçe Mufti’s Office visited Çanakkale as part of an educational trip focused on sites associated with the Gallipoli campaign.

Accompanied by guides, the students toured historic and religiously significant locations across the Çanakkale battlefield area, learning about the battles, the challenges faced by soldiers and the sacrifices made during the campaign.

Historic sites visited

The group first traveled along the Kilitbahir Castle route and visited fortifications in the area. The program then continued with visits to sites commemorating Corporal Seyit, the Alçıtepe 1915 Trenches and Red Crescent Hospital Reconstruction Area, the Martyrs’ Memorial and Conkbayırı.

During the guided tours, students were briefed on the historical background of the Çanakkale battles, conditions on the front lines and the sacrifices made during the campaign.

Despite windy weather, the students took an active interest in the visits and closely followed the guides’ presentations at the historic sites.

The program was designed to reinforce the students’ knowledge of the Çanakkale battles while allowing them to experience significant historical and religious sites firsthand.

Following the battlefield visits, the students traveled to Çanakkale city center, where they took a meal and short shopping break.

The trip provided an opportunity for the students to strengthen their historical awareness, gain a firsthand understanding of the legacy of the Çanakkale campaign and share experiences with their peers.
