Good news for farmers in Rhodope: Compensation payments to be made in a single installment at the end of October
Özgür Ferhat, Member of Parliament for Rhodope from the New Left Party, announced that compensation payments for farmers whose tree-planted lands were heavily damaged by frost in 2025 will be made at the end of October.
Ferhat noted that a total of 960 farmers had declared losses and stressed that they have been closely monitoring the process. He said that following a parliamentary question addressed to Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrianos, an official document dated September 23, 2025, confirmed that the payments will be made in a single installment.
Addressing local producers, Ferhat stated:
“Unlike last year, this year our farmers will receive their compensation in one payment. Damage assessments have been carried out for cherries, almonds, apples, and other tree crops. These payments will be deposited into farmers’ accounts at the end of October.”
Emphasizing the importance of agriculture for Rhodope, Ferhat added: “My duty is to protect the rights of our farmers and to monitor the process transparently. We will continue our efforts to ensure that all producers receive their compensation by the end of October.”
