GAT issues multilingual message against violence toward women
The Young Academics Association (GAT), operating under the umbrella of the Western Thrace Minority Higher Education Association, shared a powerful multilingual message on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The message was accompanied by both silent and voiced videos on GAT’s social media platforms.
The shared message, written in Turkish, Greek, and English, emphasized the global nature of violence against women and called for collective action to break the silence. The message read:
Turkish
“Kadına yönelik şiddet dünyanın her yerinde sessiz çığlıklarla büyüyor.
English
“Violence against women grows through silent cries around the world. Today, let’s break this silence together! On November 25, let’s remember: Violence is not a choice; it’s a crime against humanity.”
The message underlines the importance of raising awareness and taking unified steps against violence toward women on this significant day.
