Galamatis inspects Bahçeköy (Kipoi) border crossing upgrade
Galamatis conducted an on-site inspection of the project on Wednesday, describing the modernization of the border crossing as a project of “national importance.”
Following the inspection, a meeting was held with representatives of the agencies involved to review the progress of the works and discuss the next steps.
Project progressing according to schedule
Galamatis said the progress of the project was satisfactory and emphasized that the works were proceeding within the planned timetable.
“We are not simply upgrading a border crossing; we are strengthening a key gateway for tourism, trade and development in the region,” Galamatis said.
He added that the project aims to address the need for “better and faster crossings,” support tourism, facilitate business activity and strengthen the local economy.
Galamatis stresses continued monitoring
Galamatis also emphasized that a project of this scale requires continuous monitoring and close cooperation among all stakeholders.
“It is not enough for the procedures to move forward,” he said, stressing the need for timely intervention whenever problems arise so that the project can be completed on schedule and meet the required quality standards.
Following the inspection at Kipoi, Galamatis continued his work in Dedeağaç, at the headquarters of the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia–Thrace.
He said his approach to public administration was based on being present in the field, maintaining close cooperation with public servants and finding faster solutions to problems affecting citizens and the local economy.
