A fire broke out at around 14.30 today in a stream between fields in the old Kalfa road area in Komotini. The fire was intervened with six vehicles.
A fire broke out at around 14.30 today on the old Kalfa road in the Kanal area of Komotini. The fire started in a stream between the fields and spread rapidly to a wide area in a short time and continued to progress.
The Komotini Fire Department sent five vehicles, three large and two small, to the area to extinguish the fire, while a vehicle belonging to the Civil Protection Directorate also supported the extinguishing works.
A large number of firefighters intervened in the fire from all four sides and managed to bring the fire under control until 15.00 despite the windy weather.
The fire brigade officials told journalist Ramadan Molla, Komotini Officer of Millet Newspaper, that it is not known exactly how and why the fire broke out.
