A major fire broke out on the roof of an apartment building in the Kipseli district of İskeçe on New Year’s Eve, prompting alarm among local residents.

Firefighters, emergency medical teams, and police were swiftly dispatched to the scene. Flames and thick smoke were visible from a wide area, heightening concern among people living nearby. The presence of ambulances further increased anxiety in the neighborhood.

According to reports in the local press, two individuals were taken to hospital as a precaution after suffering from smoke inhalation. Unconfirmed reports also indicate that a police officer sustained minor injuries.

The fire was brought under control following a coordinated response by firefighting teams. A water tanker from the Municipality of İskeçe assisted in the firefighting efforts, while municipal officials were present at the scene to provide support.

Security measures remain in place as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
