Finally a contract signed for the collapsed Narlıköy Bridge
A contract was signed with the firm 'Ergobeton Aveteth' (ΕΡΓΟΜΠΕΤΟΝ ΑΒΕΤΕΘ) for the reconstruction of the Polianthos (Narlıköy) bridge of the Municipality of Iasmos, which collapsed about five years ago.
Eastern Macedonia - Thrace State President Christos Metios and company officials signed a contract worth 4.1 million euros for the construction of the new bridge today (Thursday 19 May).
The bridge, which will be 114 meters in length and 11 meters in width, is planned to be completed within 20 months from the start of construction work.
Speaking during the signing ceremony of the agreement, State President Christos Metios stated that the last step necessary to solve a problem that has left the Iasmos (Yassıköy) region and the western region of the Rhodope province in a difficult situation for a long time has been taken.
Spiros Galopoulos, the head of the company "Ergobeton Abeteth", which will build the bridge, Nikos Çalikidis, the Deputy Head of the Rhodope Province, and Tarkan Multaza, the Deputy Head of the State in charge of infrastructure works, attended the signing ceremony.
The signing ceremony at the state headquarters was also attended by Deputy President Kostas Nalbantis in charge of the economy, Advisor to the Provincial President in charge of sports Ahmet İbram, Advisor to the Provincial President responsible for the development of mountainous regions Cihan İmamoğlu and other officials.
As it will be remembered, the bridge collapsed in September 2017 and has not been used since then.
