Fatal road accident in Rhodope: Two dead and three injured after car overturns into ditch
A tragic accident occurred on Saturday night in the mountainous region of Rhodope, on the road leading to Nea Santa, when a car veered off course and ended up overturned in a ditch.
The crash resulted in the deaths of two men, including the driver, while three other passengers were injured. The vehicle, driven by a foreign national, left the roadway under circumstances that remain unclear and subsequently overturned.
Fire service crews rescued an unconscious minor and an unconscious man from inside the vehicle. Additionally, an unconscious man, an injured minor, and an injured woman were pulled from outside the car.
Emergency medical teams transported all injured individuals to the hospital. According to the fire department, the rescue operation involved 11 firefighters and 5 vehicles.
Police authorities are currently investigating the causes of the fatal accident.
