Innovation workshop to connect businesses and research institutions in Rhodope

Businesses, research institutions and academic organisations will come together in Gümülcine (Komotini) on 19 October to explore innovation opportunities, strengthen partnerships and learn about available funding and support programmes in Greece’s Rhodope region.

The Innovation Lab will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Rhodope Chamber of Professionals and Craftspeople, located at 12 Kaveiron Street, 69100 Gümülcine (Komotini).

The event is being organised in cooperation with the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, the Rhodope Chamber of Professionals and Craftspeople, and the Rhodope Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It is being held through the S3remth Management and Monitoring Mechanism under the Smart Specialisation Strategy for Research and Innovation.

STRENGTHENING LINKS BETWEEN BUSINESS AND RESEARCH
The workshop aims to strengthen ties between the regional business community and the research ecosystem, identify new opportunities for collaboration, and inform participants about available funding and support mechanisms.

Organisers will present the work and activities of the S3remth Mechanism, alongside findings from the first phase of the Entrepreneurial Discovery Process.

The discussions are expected to focus on businesses’ practical innovation needs and ways to translate research and scientific knowledge into new products, services and collaborative projects.

SUPPORTING REGIONAL INNOVATION
The event will also provide an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, develop professional networks and identify areas where cooperation between businesses and research organisations could deliver practical benefits.

Organisers emphasise that understanding the real needs of the market is essential to developing effective innovation policies and support programmes across the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

REGISTRATION OPEN TO INTERESTED PARTICIPANTS
The workshop is open to businesses, research centres, academic institutions, representatives of public and private organisations, and other interested members of the public.
