False alarm over reported ‘Missing Swimmer’ at Dikilitaş beach

A reported missing swimmer at Dikilitaş (Dikella)– Güvendik (Mesimvria) Beach on Monday afternoon prompted a swift response from the Hellenic Coast Guard and emergency medical services, but the incident was ultimately confirmed as a false alarm.

Authorities were mobilised after reports suggested a possible person in distress at sea. Rescue teams conducted searches in the area but found no one in danger, with the situation attributed to a misunderstanding.

Local radio station Maximum FM reported that the initial alert had caused temporary concern among beachgoers before officials confirmed there was no emergency.
