Excitement continues in the Dr. Sadık Ahmet Football Tournament

The Dr. Sadik Ahmet Football Tournament of the Youth Branch of the Friendship Equality Peace Party founded by Dr. Sadik Ahmet and the Young Academics Community operating under the umbrella of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association continues at the football field of Yalımlı village of Yassıköy Municipality.

The Mayor of Yassıköy Municipality Caner Imam, who is also from Yalımlı village, Advisor to the Mayor and Mayor of Yalımlı Ercan Mümün, the village headman and young people worked hard to make the tournament a success.

Burnt grass was mowed, the ground of the field was constantly irrigated in order to regenerate the ground, as well as spraying against mosquitoes and insects around the field so that the spectators could watch the matches comfortably from the stands without being disturbed. The teams participating in the tournament are competing in two separate groups as juniors and seniors. 2024 Dr. Sadık Ahmet Football Tournament started with the first matches played on Tuesday evening, 16 July 2024. In the first matches, in the junior group, Yalımlı team lost 3-1 to its rival Çepelli Eagles, while in the senior group, DEB YOUTH lost 2-1 to its rival İTB. In the second matches played yesterday evening, in the junior group, Kurcalı Sports team lost 7-0 to Fenerbahçeliler Association team, while in the senior group, GAT Thessaloniki lost 6-2 to its rival Gloria FC. The excitement will continue at Yalımlı football pitch this evening with the third matches. Yassıköy team - GAT Xanthi and BTFBD YELLOW team will face BTFBD LACIVERT team.Tomorrow evening, Kozlukebir Eagles and GAT Larisa teams will meet. The semi-final matches of the Dr. Sadık Ahmet Football Tournament, which will be completed in Yalımlı football field, will be played on Saturday, 20 July and Sunday, 21 July and the final match will be played on Tuesday, 23 July.
