Enez Street in Ipsala to change as Dr. Sadık Ahmet
With a proposal given in the July Assembly meetings of Ipsala Municipality, it was decided to give the name of the late Dr. Sadık Ahmet, the leader of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, to Enez Street in Ipsala Bayrambey Neighbourhood.
Mayor Mehmet Kerman, who took the floor upon the proposal of the AK Party group, said: "We should name the best street of our district worthy of Dr. Sadık Ahmet, the leader of our compatriots in Greece, whose name is given to streets, streets and schools in many provinces of Türkiye.
This is Enez Street." Then the wishes and suggestions of the Assembly groups were discussed.
After the break given to the Assembly, with the votes of all Assembly members, it was unanimously accepted to change the name of Enez Street to Dr. Sadık Ahmet Street.
Mayor Mehmet Kerman stated after the vote that a ceremony will be held in Ipsala on 24 July on the anniversary of Dr. Sadık Ahmet's death to change the name of the street.
