EMT: 14 arrests for traffic violations, 5 in İskeçe (Xahthi)
During the past week (from February 10 to 16, 2025), police services of the General Regional Police Directorate of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace made 14 arrests across various areas of the region, including İskeçe (Xanthi), Drama, Kavala, Rodopi, and Meriç (Evros). The arrests were made for violations of the Traffic Code, primarily for dangerous driving behaviors.
In İskeçe, 5 arrests occurred:
One female and four males were arrested in İskeçe town and the İskeçe – Yassıköy (Iasmos) National Road. They were caught by the police officers from the Topeiros Police Department and İskeçe Traffic Police Department while driving three motorcycles and two cars without valid driving licenses.
Additionally, arrests occurred in Drama and Kavala, with violators caught driving without licenses or driving vehicles that were uninsured or without proper registration.
The police efforts to combat dangerous driving behaviors are ongoing.
