ELSA Gümülcine to host career week for law students and young lawyers
The Gümülcine branch of the European Law Students' Association (ELSA) is organizing a four-day Professional Development Week (PD Week) aimed at connecting law students and young legal professionals with the legal industry.
The program will take place in Gümülcine between March 12 and March 15, offering participants opportunities to develop professional skills, explore career paths, and engage directly with leading legal practitioners.
The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between legal education and the job market, helping future lawyers gain practical insights and networking opportunities.
Four-Day Program Focused on Professional Growth
The PD Week program will be divided into three key segments designed to enhance students’ professional preparation.
Professional Development Workshop – March 12
The week will begin with a Professional Development Workshop, focusing on career preparation and job interview techniques.
Participants will receive practical guidance on:
- Writing effective CVs and cover letters
- Developing interview strategies
- Building professional communication skills
The workshop aims to equip law students with the tools needed to successfully transition from university to the professional legal environment.
Career Day – March 14
The main event of the week, Career Day, will take place at the amphitheater of the former law faculty building.
Experienced legal professionals will share insights into their careers and discuss:
- Different legal career paths
- Opportunities within the legal profession
- Current challenges facing young lawyers
The event will allow students to gain firsthand knowledge about various areas of legal practice.
Job Fair – March 15
The week will conclude with a Job Fair organized under the auspices of ELSA Greece, bringing together students with law firms and corporate legal departments.
