Elected administrators of Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School met with Topsidis
The delegation consisting of Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School Board of Councillors and Parents' Association Managers met with Christodoulos Topsidis, President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
The delegation, headed by Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Council, met with the President of the Region Topsidis and the minority members of the Region Council on Thursday, 15 February 2024 at the Region Administration Building in Komotini.
During the meeting, the Board of the Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School and the members of the Parent-Teacher Association wished the President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Christodoulos Topsidis success in his new position.
During the meeting, Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Chairman of the Council delegation, conveyed the current situation in Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School and the building problem of the school to the Region President Topsidis.
The members of the Council of Governors and the Parent-Teacher Association members stated that students, teachers and families have suffered a lot due to the fact that the building problem has not been solved for many years and emphasised that the final solution is only possible with a new school building.
The Board of Councillors and PTA executives asked for the support of the Region President Topsidis and the Region Assembly Members for the solution of the problem.
Urgent requests for better conditions for the students, including prefabricated buildings until a final solution is found, were submitted in writing.
During the meeting with the President of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Topsidis and the members of the Region Council, a detailed dossier on the situation of the school, the initiatives and demands made so far was submitted.
Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Councillors, presented a plaque of the school to the President of the Region Christodoulos Topsidis in memory of the visit.
The meeting, which took place at the Region House in Komotini, was attended by Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Chairman of the Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School Board of Councillors, Ersan Ömer and Hasan Bosnak, the Directors of the Board of Councillors, Bahri Belço, Secretary of the Board of Councillors, Bingül Tuzlacı, President of the Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School PTA and Özlem Otuzbir, General Secretary. President of the Region Christodoulos Topsidis, Vice President İrfan Hacıgene, Advisors to the President Rıdvan Molla İsa, Salih Yörük, Region Assembly Members Fatih İsmailko, İbrahim Amuçka and Ahmet Osman Pehlivan were also present at the meeting.
The Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School Council made a statement on its social media account regarding the visit. At the end of the statement, "As the Xanthi Minority Secondary School-High School Board of Councillors and the Parent-Teacher Association, we would like to thank the Region President Mr. Topsidis and the Region Assembly Members for the meeting, express our belief that they will show the necessary sensitivity to find an urgent solution to the problems of our school and wish them success in their duties".
