Eastern Macedonia and Thrace allocates €24.2 million for school buildings
The Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) Regional Authority has announced a budget of €24.2 million dedicated to the renovation and construction of school buildings across the region. This funding will support 12 projects aimed at improving school facilities, modernizing existing infrastructure, constructing new buildings, and enhancing accessibility for students with disabilities.
The funding, sourced from the "Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2021–2027" Program, will focus on expanding school buildings, modernizing old structures, and upgrading equipment, including the establishment of STEAM classrooms and technological improvements.
A breakdown of the funding allocation includes:
Two new kindergartens in Dedeağaç (€2.26 million)
Additional building for Podohori Primary School (€1.24 million)
Restoration of Lavara Primary School in Soufli Municipality (€840,000)
New building for Komotini’s 1st Kindergarten (€1.8 million)
Modernization and energy upgrade of Soufli High School complex (€3.66 million)
Additional classrooms for Pyrgos Primary School (€647,500)
New primary school in Ofrinio Beach (€5.5 million)
Technology and STEAM updates for schools in Paranesti (€609,522)
Modernization of Kavala’s 2nd Primary School (€3.63 million)
Upgrades to Doxato Municipality’s primary and secondary units (€625,000)
School improvements in Paranesti Municipality (€2.22 million)
Construction of a 50-child kindergarten in Chryssoupolis (€1.22 million)
Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School for the construction of a new school building: (0) ZERO EURO
