Dr. Sadık Ahmet commemorated in İzmit on 31st anniversary of his death

The memorial ceremony was organized by the İzmit Branch of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD) in cooperation with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and was held in front of the Dr. Sadık Ahmet Monument at İzmit Doğu Kışla Park.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Sadık Ahmet’s wife Işık Sadık Ahmet, Kocaeli Deputy Veysel Tipioğlu, Kocaeli Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, Kocaeli Deputy Governor Şenol Kaya, BTTDD President Batuhan Kaşifoğlu, representatives of political parties, civil society organizations and members of the association.

Speakers at the event highlighted Dr. Sadık Ahmet’s contributions to the struggle for the rights and freedoms of the Turkish community of Western Thrace.

During the ceremony, participants laid carnations at the monument, while Quran recitation and prayers were held in memory of Dr. Sadık Ahmet.

The commemoration program concluded with refreshments offered to participants.
