Deputy Minister of Interior Petsas met with the mayors of the region
Stelios Petsas, Acting Minister of Interior, who visited Gümülcine (Komotini), met with the mayors of East Macedonia Thrace region.
Petsas announced that 39 million euros of new financing will be provided to all municipalities in the country until the end of January, at the meeting held in the old governor's office (Friday, 13 January) in Gümülcine (Komotini).
The first part of 25 million euros of this financing will be devoted to issues related to the response to the energy crisis and will be given to municipalities until the end of January.
Other financing of 14 million euros to meet the heating needs of schools will be allocated to school boards by the end of next week.
Petsas also announced that employment programs will be operation for long-term unemployed people aged 55-67.
He also announced a 20 million euro financing for Waters Authorities nationwide.
Meanwhile, Petsas visited the Mayor of Gümülcine (Komotini), Yannis Garanis, in his office before the meeting with all mayors of the region in the former governor's office.
