Damage assessment held for the crops damaged by the extreme heat
Due to the extreme heat and drought, many fields in the Rhodope region have been adversely affected by the cultivated garden crops and the producers have suffered great damage.
New Left Party Rhodope MP Özgür Ferhat has been closely following the issue for some time in order to compensate the damages of the producers who have suffered and has been continuing his efforts to determine the damages. The initiatives of MP Ferhat for the determination of the damages in the fields have yielded results.
Today, ELGA authorised engineers in the Rhodope region visited the fields in some places and determined the damages on site. The agricultural engineers were accompanied by the MP in the damage assessment. Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat made a written statement on the subject. "I have stated that we have started the process of compensation for the crops affected by the extreme heat and that we will be active supporters in the field until this process is finalised and our producers receive their compensation.
Today, we accompanied the ELGA authorised agricultural engineers who came to carry out the damage assessment of the crops in our region and inspected the latest situation in the fields together with our farmers. Our next work is now to ensure that the necessary amounts are approved by the central government!" said Ferhat.
