Consul General Ünal meets with kinsmen in Yalımlı Village
The visit was also attended by the Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and Mufti of Komotini, İbrahim Şerif, as well as the President of the Turkish Youth Union of Komotini, Sedat Hasan.
Consul General Ünal was warmly welcomed with flowers by Yassıköy Mayor Caner İmam and Qur’an course students. Mayor İmam expressed his gratitude to Ünal for visiting the village.
The Turkish Consulate shared a post on social media stating, "We met with our fellow Turks in the Rodopi/Yalımlı village." Mufti İbrahim Şerif also posted on his social media account, noting, "We performed the Friday prayer in Yalımlı village and delivered a sermon on the importance of knowledge in Islam to the congregation. We thank the villagers for their warm hospitality."
