Ceyda Belük from Ketenlik village in İskeçe graduates top of her class at METU
Western Thracian Turkish students continue to shine with outstanding academic achievements.
Ceyda Belük, a native of Ketenlik village in the region of Xanthi, has graduated as the top student from Middle East Technical University (METU), one of Türkiye’s most prestigious universities.
Belük completed her degree in the English Language Teaching Department with a perfect GPA of 4.00, earning the title of METU's 2024–2025 Valedictorian. Her accomplishment has brought immense pride not only to her family and community in Western Thrace but also to her alma mater, the Minority Secondary and High School of İskeçe.
This achievement follows a recent wave of success from Western Thracian students; just days ago, three students from the region graduated first, second, and third in their class at Edirne Şehit Yıldız Gürsoy Anatolian Imam Hatip High School in İskeçe, further highlighting the region's growing academic excellence.
