The exits from Türkiye's Ipsala Border Gate are unavailable, and citizens are being directed to Kapıkule Border.

The Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini has issued an important warning to its citizens concerning the continuing wildfires in Evros province of Greece. Acknowledging that the security situation in the region, which is influenced by the fires, should be diligently monitored, the Consulate General advised citizens who wish to travel to exercise caution.

The official announcement released today stated that the motorway in the region was shut down owing to the wildfires that are currently raging in Evros, Greece. Simultaneously, it was announced that side roads could be temporarily closed to traffic depending on the fire's movement.

As part of the security measures taken, citizens intending to travel from the region were advised to follow the guidance of local authorities and border security units. Moreover, citizens wishing to leave Türkiye via the Ipsala Border Gate were instructed to use the Kapıkule border gate instead.

The Consulate General stated that it is essential for citizens to follow official announcements closely and take precautions before making their travel plans. It was emphasized that individuals should ensure they can travel safely and smoothly by obtaining up-to-date information about route changes and security measures caused by fires when taking necessary precautions.
