Blood stocks reach critical levels as Dedeağaç issues urgent donation appeal
The Dedeağaç Blood Donation Unit said there is an urgent need for O-negative (O−) and A-negative (A−) blood, calling on eligible residents to donate and help replenish supplies needed for patients.
In an official notice shared on social media, the Blood Donation Unit urged people with these blood types who meet the necessary health requirements to donate as soon as possible.
Where to donate blood in Dedeağaç
Blood donations can be made at the Blood Donation Department on the third floor of Dedeağaç University Hospital.
The donation hours are:
Every day: 08:30–14:30
Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday: 17:30–20:30
Blood donations are also accepted at the Dedeağaç Prefecture building in the city centre every Saturday from 08:30 to 13:30.
Authorities stressed that the need for blood remains ongoing and that donations become particularly important when supplies of specific blood groups fall to critically low levels.
The Dedeağaç Blood Donation Unit is specifically calling on people with O-negative and A-negative blood to donate and has also asked residents to share the appeal to help reach more potential donors.
Officials emphasized that even a single blood donation can make a significant difference for a patient in need.
