Big fire in Kalkanca-Komotini
After the fire broke out, many fire trucks, firefighters and police officers were sent to the region.
In the first hours, the interventions with four large fire extinguishers were insufficient due to the rise of the flames.
As a result of the intensification of extinguishing efforts in the following minutes, the fire was brought under control after an hour of intense work without posing a danger to the surrounding houses.
Deputy Mayor of Komotini, Levent İsmail, who went to Kalkanca District during the first hours of the fire and received information about the fire, said that the fire broke out in an open area, although it caused great panic, there was no human or living thing at the fire place as a result of intensive studies the fire was taken under control.
