23 April celebrations at the Turkish Consulate in Komotini
The Turkish Consulate in Komotini celebrated April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day with a lively and joyful event that brought together children and families from across Western Thrace.
The event began at 12:30 PM and featured a range of fun activities designed especially for children, including coloring stations, puzzle games, and various entertainment options. One of the most engaging parts of the event was the AI-assisted photo experience, where children visualized themselves in the professions they dreamed of pursuing in the future.
Throughout the celebration, children enjoyed a variety of treats, while their families shared in the joy and pride of the day.
In his speech, Consul General Aykut Ünal emphasized that this special day was a gift from the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, to children. He said, “This day belongs to the children, and we do our best to make them happy.” Referring to the AI-generated images of children's dream professions, he wished that the children would continue on their paths with the same determination and hope reflected in those images.
The celebration stood as a testament to the importance of youth and imagination, and to the enduring legacy of Atatürk’s vision for future generations.
