16-year-old killed in motorcycle crash near Kalfalar (Myrodato)
A 16-year-old boy was killed and a 20-year-old man was injured after two motorcycles collided Sunday night at the Kalfalar (Myrodato) junction in İskeçe (Xanthi).
The crash occurred on the Avato–Nea Kessani provincial road, according to police.
Police said the collision occurred when the motorcycle ridden by the 20-year-old struck the motorcycle ridden by the 16-year-old from Kessani.
The 16-year-old died as a result of the crash.
The 20-year-old was injured and taken to İskeçe (Xanthi) General Hospital for treatment. According to initial information, his injuries are not considered life-threatening and he has not been transferred to an intensive care unit at another hospital.
Investigation under way
The exact circumstances and causes of the fatal collision are being investigated by the Xanthi Traffic Police Department.
