Zografeion Greek Lyceum hosts thousands for landmark Panhellenic Environmental Congress in Istanbul
Zografeion Greek Lyceum hosted one of the largest youth-focused environmental gatherings of the year, welcoming thousands of students from across Greece for the 3rd Panhellenic Environmental Congress.
Organized in collaboration with the Western Selanik Primary and Secondary Education Directorates, the congress brought together approximately 8,000 students, teachers, and parents, highlighting growing youth engagement in environmental awareness and sustainability.
Throughout the multi-day event, students presented innovative projects addressing pressing global challenges such as climate change, environmental protection, and sustainable living. Rather than relying solely on traditional academic formats, participants showcased their ideas through creative mediums including dance performances, video presentations, music, posters, and visual art.
The congress stood out as a dynamic platform that merged education with artistic expression, encouraging young people to actively engage with environmental issues while fostering creativity and collaboration. Organizers emphasized that the event aimed not only to raise awareness but also to inspire students to become proactive contributors to environmental solutions.
