Mustafa Hatipler appointed as Rector of Trakya University
According to the Official Gazette published on the night of August 16, new rectors were appointed to 13 universities in Turkey. Among these appointments, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler has been named the new Rector of Trakya University.
Who is Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler?
Born in 1959 in Edirne, Mustafa Hatipler graduated from Uludağ University's Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Finance, in 1982. He completed his master's degree at Trakya University in 1995 and earned his PhD from Namık Kemal University in 2010.
In 2011, Hatipler began his academic career as a Lecturer at Trakya University's Edirne Vocational School of Social Sciences. After becoming an Associate Professor in 2018, he was promoted to Professor in 2023.
Before his appointment as Rector, Hatipler served as the Head of the Department of Foreign Trade and Marketing at Trakya University’s Edirne Vocational School of Social Sciences. As of August 16, 2024, he has taken on the role of Rector at Trakya University.
Legacy of "Brotherhood Knows No Borders"
Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler is well-known for his involvement in the "Balkan Ramadan" project, initiated by the Bayrampaşa Municipality under the slogan "Brotherhood Knows No Borders." This project has been organizing iftar dinners for Muslim Turks in the Balkans for years.
Hatipler is also recognized for his deep affection for the descendants of Ottoman soldiers (Evlad-ı Fatihan) and for his published works on Edirne and the Balkans.
