Opening speeches took place in the first part of the panel held in Ankara on 12 December 2022.
The President of the Turkish Historical Society Prof. Dr. Birol Çetin made a speech explaining the importance of the massacre for the Turkish people. Prof. Dr. Çetin said, “What is the truth of this business? We have lived together for nearly 400 years; we have preserved all their customs, traditions, religion, chastity and honor. Nothing happened for 400 years, after that 40 thousand people were massacred and an ethnic cleansing was carried out.” he said.
