Xanthi FC Arena in poor condition

The Xanthi FC Arena, once one of the most beautiful football stadiums in Greece despite its small capacity, has fallen into a state of neglect following the withdrawal of A.O. Xanthi from national championships and its return to the city center.
Originally designed with 5,500 seats and later expanded to approximately 7,500, Xanthi FC Arena hosted many significant matches at the highest level of Greek football. However, the stadium has now been left to deteriorate and is in poor condition.
The withdrawal of A.O. Xanthi from the national leagues led the team back to its original home ground in the city center, leaving the modern stadium located in Pigadia abandoned.
Although the training center located in the same area remains in good condition, the Xanthi FC Arena now resembles the facilities built for the 2004 Olympic Games, which were later ruined by time and weather conditions.
