Brighton has signed 19-year-old forward Stefanos Tzimas from German side Nuremberg for £20.8 million (25 million euros), the Premier League club announced on Monday.

The Greece Under-21 international has agreed to a contract running until June 2030 but will remain with Nuremberg for the rest of the season before linking up with Brighton in the summer.

“Stefanos is an exceptional young talent, an out-and-out center-forward with a natural ability to score goals,” Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler said. “He will join up with us in the summer, ahead of next season, and we are really looking forward to working with him, believing he has a very exciting future ahead.”

Tzimas initially joined Nuremberg on loan from Thessaloniki club PAOK last summer in a deal that included an option to buy, which the German second-tier side exercised before his transfer to Brighton.

The teenager has been in impressive form this season, netting 10 goals in 17 appearances for Nuremberg in the 2. Bundesliga, Germany’s second division.
