Alexandros Taxildaris from Komotini to lead Greece’s paralympic team
Komotini-born Paralympic athlete Alexandros Taxildaris will lead the Greek athletes participating in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The event, which will take place in France's capital, is scheduled to begin on August 28 and conclude on September 8, 2024.
Taxildaris, who is also the president of the "PERPATO" Association in Komotini, an organization dedicated to supporting people with disabilities, has been chosen to head the Greek Paralympic Team. His leadership role in Paris is a point of pride for his hometown.
Komotini Mayor Yannis Garanis expressed his joy on social media, celebrating Taxildaris's appointment. In his statement, Mayor Garanis shared, "As the Mayor of Komotini, I am deeply moved and proud.
