105 suspects detained for their alleged involvement in the fight between AEK and Dinamo Zagreb fans, in which one person died, were sentenced to pre-trial detention.

The investigation into the fight between rival fans in Greece, which resulted in death, is being carried out by 3 investigating judges and 2 prosecutors.

It was decided that 105 fans, who were previously detained and interrogated, will be tried in pre-trial detention.

The fans, 102 of whom are Croatian and 3 of whom are Greek citizens, who were charged with 11 charges including "intentional killing" and "membership of a criminal organisation" regarding the killing of 29-year-old AEK fan Mihalis Kaçuris, who died of knife strokes, denied the charges against them.

Authorities are analysing phone signals in the vicinity of the AEK Stadium where the clash took place and at the metro station to determine whether there are other people involved in the incident.

UEFA President Ceferin to meet with Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin will meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Greece, where he will visit on 16 August following the fight.

Greek officials announced that representatives of the country's big four clubs AEK Athens, Olympiakos, PAOK and Panathinaikos, as well as sports officials, have been invited to the talks.

What has happened?

AEK fan Katsuris, who was injured with a knife in a fight between the fans of the rival teams, died in the hospital where he was hospitalised.

Following the incidents, UEFA announced that the Champions League qualifying 1st match between AEK and Dinamo Zagreb was postponed.

The suspects were brought before a judge on 11 August for their alleged involvement in the fight that left 10 people injured and one person dead.
