Foreign Ministers of Greece and Croatia discussed the imprisonment of Croatian fans on the phone

The Foreign Ministers of Greece and Croatia, George Gerapetritis and Gordan Grlić Radman, respectively, spoke by telephone on Sunday following the pre-trial detention of dozens of Croatian football fans arrested in connection with the violence that took place in the Nea Philadelphia neighbourhood of Athens.
According to diplomatic sources on Monday, the Croatian Minister expressed regret over the death of a Greek football fan killed during these clashes, condemned the involvement of Croats in the events and expressed confidence that the Greek justice will impartially investigate the facts.
He also thanked the Greek state and the prison authorities for their cooperation.
Gerapetritis, in turn, expressed to his Croatian counterpart his confidence that the independent Greek justice will investigate the case in a fair and impartial manner, respecting the fundamental rights of the detainees.
