Woman shot dead in Agrinio, police searching for ex-partner

The victim was about to get in her car parked near Panaitolikos stadium in the city of Agrinion when she was ambushed by her 30-year-old former partner who shot her in the abdomen at close range. 

Local reports indicated that she revealed the identity of the shooter to the officers who arrived at the scene before being transported to the local hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

Officers looking for the suspect located his car next to Lake Trichonida, in the direction from Agrinio to Thermo. Authorities believe the man is on out as he is very familiar with the area. 

The 43-year-old woman was a mother of three children aged 14, 16 and 18, whom she had from her relationship with another man.

The main suspect has a long history of domestic violence and three shotguns were confiscated from his house on September 6, following a complaint by the victim. A hearing was set for November 15.

According to information, the woman had not requested a panic button in September.
