The letters from MPs Georgios Manousos and Ioannis Dimitrokallis, both elected on a Spartiates party ticket, in which they announced their intention to quit the Spartiates parliamentary group and become independent, were submitted to Parliament on Friday.

This reduces the Spartiates parliamentary group to eight MPs, making it the 8th-ranked parliamentary party. The number of independent MPs has now increased to six.
