Thousands of demonstrators marched through central Athens on Saturday in a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people, protesting Israel’s ongoing military offensive in Gaza. The protest, organized under the slogan “Freedom for Palestine,” included a march to the embassies of the United States and Israel.

The demonstration was organized by the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME), affiliated with the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), and drew support from a wide coalition of groups, including the Palestinian Community in Greece, trade unions, leftist political organizations, and civil society groups.

Protesters gathered in Eleftherias Park near Megaro Musikis before marching toward the U.S. Embassy and later the Israeli Embassy. Carrying Palestinian flags and chanting slogans such as “Murderer Israel,” “Freedom for Palestine,” and “Cancel the Greece-Israel agreements,” demonstrators condemned what they described as a “genocide” against Palestinians.

Participants also called on the Greek government to end its political and military cooperation with Israel, criticizing the country’s silence in the face of escalating violence in Gaza.

The rally remained peaceful, with a strong turnout reflecting growing public concern in Greece over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
