It is reported that a Syrian who was shot by a police bullet while fleeing with a stolen vehicle in Greece died.

According to a statement by the Greek Police, a stolen vehicle was detected on the motorway this morning.

The police warned the vehicle, which was stolen from Galachi in the Attiki Region, to stop.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, did not obey the stop warning and increased his speed, hitting the wall of a house near the town of Larisa.

The driver got out of the car and tried to escape but was shot dead by a police officer.

Police reported that the deceased driver was a 20-year-old Syrian with a criminal record for smuggling illegal immigrants, vehicle theft and drugs.
