Spartiates: Trial for voter fraud postponed again

The trial of 11 MPs elected with the "Spartiates" party, along with Ilias Kasidiaris and a lawyer, accused of voter fraud, has been postponed to March 13 by the Single-Member Court of Appeals.

At the start of the proceedings, several defendants requested a postponement, citing their participation in a parliamentary debate on a motion of no confidence against the government regarding the Tempi tragedy management.

However, the request was denied following a recommendation by the prosecutor, who argued that the reason cited was temporary, as the parliamentary debate would conclude by midnight. Instead, the prosecutor proposed a brief adjournment rather than a full postponement.

"This case cannot remain pending. The trial must proceed swiftly," the prosecutor stated. The presiding judge confirmed that the trial will go forward, officially announcing the decision to adjourn rather than postpone.
