The 2026 calendar offers several opportunities for short getaways, with three long weekends and one standout four-day break throughout the year.
Long Weekends in 2026
The first long weekend comes in February, as Clean Monday falls on 23 February, creating a three-day break from Saturday 21 to Monday 23 February.
Next is May Day, which in 2026 falls on a Friday, offering a long weekend from 1 to 3 May.
The third long weekend arrives with Whit Monday (Holy Spirit Monday), from 30 May to 1 June, an ideal period for early summer trips.
The Only Four-Day Break of the Year
The prime opportunity for a longer getaway in 2026 is Easter. From Good Friday, 10 April, through Easter Monday, 13 April, a full four-day break is formed, with favorable dates for travel both within Greece and abroad.
