Old man loses thousands of euros to fraudsters

A 75-year-old man fell into the network of phone scammers and lost thousands of euros.
According to local sources, a "smart" employee of an accounting office in Mantoudi, Evia province, defrauded the elderly by convincing them that he was entitled to receive money from their pension.
The fraudster persuaded the old man by phone to go to a bank ATM and transfer 6,600 euros to a third party's account.
The victim contacted the authorities and filed a complaint against an unknown person.
