ND leads as protest mood dominates, Tsipras–Karystianou contest remains tight

New Democracy (ND) maintains a clear lead, while a potential battle for protest and new-party voters between former prime minister Alexis Tsipras and Tempe rail disaster activist Maria Karystianou appears closely matched, according to a new Alco poll for Alpha TV.

Public attitudes toward the two figures show no decisive gap: 17% of respondents view Tsipras positively, compared with 26% for Karystianou, with large segments expressing neutrality. The poll suggests substantial room for political newcomers, as 41% of voters say they are quite or very likely to support a new party, while 47% say they are unlikely.

Voter dissatisfaction remains pronounced, with 58% saying they are inclined to cast a protest vote in the next election. Disappointment, insecurity and anger dominate public sentiment, and 76% of respondents believe the government’s priorities are misaligned with those of society.

In voting intention, ND leads with 23.5%, holding a 13-point advantage over PASOK at 10.5%, which has declined since December. Greek Solution follows with 9.4%, ahead of Course of Freedom (7.9%) and the Communist Party of Greece (7.1%).

SYRIZA trails at 3.7%, followed by Voice of Reason (2.8%), MeRA25 (2.6%), NIKI (2.2%), Movement for Democracy (1.8%) and New Left (1.3%).

Undecided voters account for 18.4%.
