Kasselakis meets Imanoglou; expresses support for Greek-Turkish dialogue
The leader of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Stefanos Kasselakis, had a meeting on Sunday with the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglou, and expressed his support for the Greek-Turkish dialogue.
More specifically, Kasselakis stated that "as the main opposition, and I personally, we are in favor of the positive dialogue, the positive agenda, between Turkiye and Greece and all the efforts that you also support for peace between the two peoples."
The leader of SYRIZA-Progressive also reminded Ekrem Imamoglou of his family roots from Istanbul, thanked him for his support to the Greek Orthodox community and invited him to Athens.
On his part, Imanoglou said: Relations between Turkiye and Greece are, of course, largely linked to Istanbul's relations with Greek cities. I can say that we have made significant steps in this direction recently. Over the last three years, we have had very good relations with many Greek cities, especially Athens, both through individual cities and through B40, the Balkan Cities Network that we have created together. Of course, we want to develop this even further.
